
Supplies
- 1 tbsp tea leaves
- 1 tbsp tamarind
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 4-5 cloves
- 4-5 bay leaves
- 3-4 black cardamom
- 2 cups soaked whole black gram
- ¼ cup kidney beans
- Salt to taste
- 1tbsp oil
- 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
- 1 cup chopped onions
- 1tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp chilli powder
- 1tbsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1 cup chopped tomatoes
- Cooked beans
- Fresh coriander
- 2 tbsp coconut milk
Steps
- In a muslin cloth put all whole spices, tamarind and tea leaves and make a potli out of it.
- In a pressure cooker add beans, salt and potli and pressure cook for 20-25 minutes.
- Remove the potli and keep aside.
- In a kadai add oil, ginger garlic paste and onion sauté for a min.
- Add powder spices and sauté well. Add tomatoes in it and mix well.
- Add cooked beans and cook for some time.
- Add salt as required.
- Add cream and coriander and mix well.
- Garnish with coconut milk and coriander.
- Serve.
