• 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 8 ounces shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon red hot sauce
  • Sea salt


  1. In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Add the flour and cook for 1 minute. Whisk in milk and cook until it just bubbles and thickens. Remove from the heat and stir in the cheese and hot sauce until combined. Season with salt to taste.
  2. Serve pretzel bites alongside cheese dip.
